WNY Manufacturing Drops Mirroring U.S.

According to the Institute for Supply Management – Buffalo Chapter, area manufacturing activity fell to 51.2 in October, its lowest level in over three years (August 2016).  The index fell -17.1 points from September and now indicates negligible growth (a reading above 50.0 indicates expansion), consistent with the National ISM’s PMI which has signaled no growth for the past four months.  Production Level, New Orders, Inventories of Purchased Goods and Employment Levels all dropped significantly in October.  See the full report here: 2019-10_BuffaloISM
